Paris Trip 2015
Block one head to Paris
This year 18 members of Block one headed to Paris at the beginning of half term week. Masses was packed into three full days. Wednesday was focused on the grand monuments of Paris, with the day starting in Montmartre, moving to Notre Dame, then the Louvre, followed by the Musee d’Orsay after lunch and finishing with a long walk from there to the Arc de Triomphe. After supper at our hotel, we headed to the Seine, for an hour’s round trip taking in Paris at night.
Thursday began with a lesson, to capitalise on the new sites and practise our French. After that it was off to Versailles, where we had a snack lunch in a ‘brasserie’ and then we did an audio-guided tour of the main state apartments. A treat for us was to see an exhibition of Anish Kapoor statues in the gardens. After a relaxing evening in the hotel, we headed off to Parc Astérix on our final day.
The weather was kind to us, which enabled us to do a great deal of walking and imbibe the richness that Paris had to offer. Thanks to M Latteur and Miss Beaumont for their help with a very amiable and interested group of children.
