The Curriculum

The Curriculum

Our primary aim is to prepare our pupils for entry to their senior schools via Common Entrance or scholarship examinations and to equip them with the confidence and motivation to flourish in the years ahead.

We aim to develop a love of learning. All children are taught in small classes by fully qualified, dedicated staff who are able to give pupils individual attention

The curriculum is deliberately broad and goes beyond the confines of the National Curriculum. Initially, the focus is on English, Maths and Science but all other academic subjects are also taught. In addition there is specialist teaching throughout the school in art, music, PE, craft and ICT.

As pupils move up the school, Latin is introduced and Spanish, German and Ancient Greek are offered as options.

Our academic reputation is excellent and Wellesley pupils gain entry to a variety of prestigious schools, many with scholarships.

In the last five years pupils have gone on to: Ampleforth, Benenden, Brighton College, Eastbourne, Eton, Harrow, King's Canterbury, Lancing, Radley, Rugby, Stowe, Tonbridge and Uppingham among others.
