Life as a Boarder

Boarding is at the heart of Wellesley life, underpinning the family nature of the school.
Junior Boys
Boys up to the age of 10 board in the small family environment of the Junior House attached to the main school building under the guidance of House parents. The idea is to develop their confidence in a small and homely environment and prepare them for the middle school. They are taught by class teachers for most lessons along with the girls.
Senior Boys
Boys aged between 11 and 13 board in the Senior House. They have their own common rooms and are looked after by the Director of Boarding and the Headmaster and his wife.
Girls
Girls board at The Orchard. The girls' boarding house has a special atmosphere where friendships flourish. They too have their own common room but also enjoy the benefits of private gardens and a library.
