Having a separate heading on the website is the only real distinction to be made between day and boarding pupils. Where boarders have a Housemaster, day children have a designated member of staff who looks after their needs. As a day child at Wellesley House the same opportunities are on offer and school life is much the same as that for boarders.
The school day starts at 8.20 a.m. and children are collected at either 5.30 or 6 p.m. although some choose to stay later. Children make use of the daily minibus which is available to parents living in East Kent. Many day children take advantage of the school trips at weekends to be with their friends who are boarders, or stay on for lectures or entertainment in the evenings, all contributing to the family feel that pervades at Wellesley.
