Wellesley has had a long tradition of welcoming overseas boarders whether expatriats or children of other nationalities. Currently there are ten overseas children in the school from Russia, Spain, Thailand, Hong Kong, Nigeria and the Caribbean. In the past we have welcomed children from France, Germany, Italy, Korea and America among others. Our intention is always to ensure that overseas children are fully integrated into the life of the school and that we also learn from the different cultures represented.
Children coming to Wellesley House from outside the UK are met at airports by our taxi service which is an extremely efficient and professional operation run by an ex-police officer. Drivers are all ex-police officers or ex-service personnel and all have been CRB checked. They provide a personal, caring service. When taking children to airports the drivers stay with the children until they are safely passed over to the airline involved. Constant communication between the school and the taxi service is maintained when children are in transit, and the highest standard of care can be anticipated at all times.
